Freedom For

Galatians 5:13-15

Freedom is a great gift from God.  Today, we celebrate the freedoms we have been given in our country.  We thank God for all the gifts bestowed upon us in this land that we live.

Today we look closely at a biblical definition of freedom that goes even further than that. Christian freedom is not permission to do whatever we want.  It is freedom with a purpose – for God and for others.  Paul writes, “For you were called to freedom, brothers.  Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another” (Gal. 5:13).
