In Reality: Waiting, for the win by Pastor Paul Dickerson
“I thought it would be like . . . but in reality it turned out like . . .” Life is full of unmet and failed expectations. Things turned out differently than we hoped. This advent we discover who Jesus is through the expectations of the Old Testament.
Today we consider victory and defeat. We know which side of that equation we’d like to be on, and we expect Jesus to do the same. But from the Old Testament to the New, we see that Jesus’s best work is often done in what looks like loss and even sacrifice.
