Easter Sunday by Pastor Jeff Cloeter

As modern people, we struggle with miracle and mystery.  We consider ourselves rational people.  We seek to explain things that defy reason.  Augustine, an ancient church father from the 4th century, once wrote, “Why wonder that you do not understand?  For if you understand, it is not God.”  In the great mysteries of our faith, we are left simply to say, “Somehow.”  Today we proclaim the great “Somehow,” that in defiance to all reason and logic, our Lord Jesus is risen from the dead.
