The Cost of Unity

The Cost of Unity by Pastor Jeff Cloeter
John 17:1-3; 18-23
Our church has five worshipping communities that meet at two different locations over the course of two days. Today, we gather as one church – whether in person or digitally – in a unified worship service. While a diverse congregation, two words form a common bond – loved and sent. We are loved by God in Jesus, and sent by God into the world.
Our last in-person Unified Worship service was two years ago. Since then, we have experienced all kinds of division and separation. Today, we hear from Jesus that there is a cost to unity. When we’ve experienced division, we find that only Jesus can hold us together when the world is tugging us apart.
