Faith and Works by Pastor Paul Dickerson
Today we celebrate our Reformation heritage and the foundational truth that Jesus has set us free by grace, through faith in Him alone (Eph. 2:8-9). But God’s Word also instructs us that “faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2:17). So which is it? Today we explore how our Lutheran doctrine helps us live in the tension between faith and works.
Today we also rejoice with our confirmands who will receive their first communion. We celebrate with our young people as they receive Jesus’ body and blood.
